Rockabilly Guitar Solos - Book 1 and 2

The primary objective of these books is to provide the reader with  resources to learn and play authentic rockabilly guitar solos and also allow the guitarist to identify key elements that create this sound and style. I have been playing rockabilly guitar for over 25 years and the solos in these books are some of my favourites.

Rockabilly Guitar Solos Book 1 looks at solos from Cliff GallupĀ“s work with Gene Vincent and the amazing guitar work of Grady Martin with Johnny BurnetteĀ“s Rock and Roll Trio. Book 2 (new from January 2014) expands the scope of reference by looking at more classic solos from Gallup and Martin as well as more contemporary, neo-rockabilly artists.

The solos have been transcribed into both standard musical notation and tablature and each solo has an accompanying MP3 file so you can listen to how it should sound at a slightly slower speed. I hope that the reader will enjoy playing and studying these solos but more so, that phrases from the different solos can be mixed and matched to create original ideas. I think it is important to borrow phrases from these pioneering masters and blend them with your own form of guitar playing to further develop and enhance your own style.
